French Truck Coffee

During the spring of 2017, Mayer Building Company completed the new French Truck Coffee on Chartres Street early. The project was designed by Colectivo. This full build out of a white box space included all new M/E/P systems and fire alarm and sprinkler modifications. The sharp, contemporary finishes include concrete tile, bold ceramics, custom steel trim and shelving and the largest butcher block surface we’ve seen in 20 plus years. The cafe sports high-end coffee making and water filtration systems for making specialty coffee (by owner), an open sales and cafe floor, new stainless equipment for back-of-house and restrooms. The architect’s plan included “bringing the sidewalk into the space,” a terrific detail by which we inlaid a New Hampshire bluestone into a portion of the French Truck space interlaced with the adjoining municipal sidewalk.
